Three-channel boost regulator for backlight LED strings
The Texas Instruments LM3532TME-40A/NOPB is a DC-DC boost regulator designed to drive LED backlight strings. It integrates three regulated current sinks, each rated for 30 mA, with a boost output capable of 40 V. Dimming is controlled via PWM, making it a direct fit for LCD panel backlighting in automotive infotainment, portable displays, and industrial control panels where multiple LED strings need independent brightness control.
Supply and temperature envelope — dashboard and outdoor display ready
Operating from a 2.7 V to 5.5 V supply rail, this part works off a single Li-ion cell or a regulated 3.3 V / 5 V bus. The junction temperature range of -40°C to 125°C covers automotive under-hood and cabin environments, as well as outdoor industrial displays that see thermal cycling. The 500 kHz switching frequency keeps the inductor and output capacitor small, which helps fit the 16-DSBGA footprint into tight layout areas.
Package and assembly — DSBGA requires controlled process
The 16-WFBGA, DSBGA package (supplier device package 16-DSBGA) is a fine-pitch ball-grid array. Surface-mount assembly needs solder paste stencil design matched to the 0.4 mm ball pitch and X-ray inspection for voiding. Not a hand-solder or rework-friendly package — plan for panelized PCB assembly with automated placement.
Active lifecycle — no end-of-life risk for new BOMs
The LM3532TME-40A/NOPB carries an Active product status and is ROHS3 compliant. This part can be specified into new designs with confidence that the supply channel will remain open for the foreseeable production horizon.
