30 A RMS SCR for line-voltage phase control
The STMicroelectronics TN3015H-6I is a standard-recovery SCR in the ECOPACK®2 series, rated for 600 V off-state voltage and 30 A RMS on-state current (19 A average). The 600 V blocking voltage suits 230 VAC and 277 VAC line applications with adequate margin for mains transients. The 30 A RMS continuous rating handles resistive heater loads, motor speed controls, and solid-state relay outputs up to about 7.5 kW at 240 VAC. Gate trigger voltage is 1.3 V max, gate trigger current 15 mA max — both low enough to be driven directly from a microcontroller GPIO through a small transistor or optocoupler, simplifying the gate drive circuit.
150°C junction — rated for hot environments
The 150°C max Tj is a full 25°C higher than many standard SCRs, providing extra thermal headroom for designs that run near the limit.
Surge current and holding current
Non-repetitive surge current is rated at 270 A for 50 Hz and 295 A for 60 Hz half-cycle, giving the SCR the ability to withstand capacitor inrush or motor start surges without failure. The 60 mA maximum holding current ensures the device stays latched once triggered, even with moderate load current ripple.
Active lifecycle and compliance
It is ROHS3 compliant and part of the ECOPACK®2 series, meeting the latest environmental requirements for lead-free and halogen-free manufacturing.
