Adjustable output and what drives the setpoint
Output is adjustable from a 1.24 V minimum up to 18 V maximum, set by two external resistors — the same divider topology as the classic TL431, but in a smaller package. The ±1.5% tolerance on the internal reference means your output voltage at the divider node stays within that band across the adjustment range, no trimming pot needed for most rails. It sinks up to 60 mA continuous, with a minimum cathode current of 200 µA to keep the shunt in regulation. That 200 µA floor is the main thing to budget in a low-power rail — if your load drops below it, the reference drifts out of spec.
Temperature stability and noise — the practical limits
The temperature coefficient is 100 ppm/°C typical. Broadband noise from 10 Hz to 10 kHz is 30 mVrms — not a low-noise part for precision analog front-ends, but adequate for biasing, overvoltage clamping, or as a secondary reference in a power supply feedback loop.
