Product details

8 A RMS, 600 V — AC load switching for industrial and appliance controls

The STMicroelectronics T835H-6T is an 8 A RMS (on-state) Alternistor triac from the Snubberless™ series, rated for 600 V off-state voltage. It handles 80 A (50 Hz) and 84 A (60 Hz) non-repetitive surge current, giving it the headroom for motor inrush or lamp-start loads without external snubber networks.

TO-220-3 through-hole — board-fit for wave-solder lines

The single triac configuration with a tab for heatsink attachment means the thermal path to the board or chassis is straightforward — check the MSL before the reflow or wave-solder profile; the tube packaging keeps the leads aligned for the insertion machine.

35 mA gate trigger — drives from logic-level or microcontroller I/O

Maximum gate trigger current (Igt) is 35 mA at a 1 V gate trigger voltage (Vgt). The 35 mA maximum hold current (Ih) means the triac stays latched once triggered until the load current drops below that threshold — relevant for low-power loads where the holding current might not be met.
