The STMicroelectronics T410-600B is a logic-level sensitive-gate triac rated for 600 V off-state and 4 A RMS on-state current, housed in a surface-mount DPAK (TO-252) package. It is designed for AC load switching where a low-power logic signal — from a microcontroller, timer, or optocoupler — directly triggers the gate. Typical applications include small motor drives, lighting dimmers, solid-state relays, and valve actuators in industrial and commercial equipment.
That simplifies the BOM and saves board space in compact designs like appliance control boards or HVAC zone valves.
600 V off-state and 4 A on-state — sizing the load
The 600 V off-state voltage gives comfortable margin for 240 V AC mains switching (peak ~340 V), and the 4 A RMS on-state current covers loads up to about 900 W resistive at 240 V. The non-repetitive surge rating of 30 A at 50 Hz and 31 A at 60 Hz handles inrush from incandescent lamps or small motor start-up without immediate failure.
Package and mounting — field-replaceable without a reflow oven
The DPAK (TO-252) surface-mount package can be soldered with a temperature-controlled iron or a hot-air station, making it practical for field repairs where a reflow oven is not available. The tab is the main thermal path and also carries the MT2 terminal — ensure the PCB footprint has adequate copper area and a via stitch to the inner layers for heat spreading.
