The STTH1R06UFY: Its 45 ns reverse recovery time places it in the fast-recovery class (under 500 ns at >200 mA), which means the diode exits conduction quickly when the applied voltage reverses — critical for reducing switching losses in a PFC boost stage, a flyback snubber, or a DC-DC converter's freewheeling path. The 600 V blocking rating covers nominal 400 V DC bus rails with margin for transients, while the 1 A average forward current suits auxiliary supply rails, gate-drive bootstrap circuits, and low-power rectification stages in automotive ECUs.
Junction temperature and automotive deployment
At 175°C the reverse leakage rises from the 1 µA at 25°C figure, but the 600 V blocking capability is maintained — the thermal budget must account for the leakage-induced self-heating at high ambient. The SMB Flat Leads package (DO-221AA) has a low seated height — roughly half that of a standard SMB — which helps when the PCB sits inside a sealed housing with tight z-axis clearance.
