150 V, 5 A per diode — the bench-fit numbers
The STPS10150CT is a dual Schottky rectifier in a common-cathode configuration, rated 150 V reverse and 5 A average forward per diode (10 A total for the pair). Forward drop is 920 mV at 5 A — that is the conduction loss figure for a hot-running supply; at lower currents the Vf drops, so the thermal budget is set by the full-load case. The fast-recovery speed (under 500 ns) means reverse-recovery charge is low enough that the diode does not overheat in a 50–100 kHz switching supply — the Schottky barrier itself is the main recovery mechanism, not a minority-carrier sweep.
TO-220 through-hole — board and heatsink
The TO-220-3 package (supplier device package TO-220) is a through-hole tabbed part — the metal tab is the common cathode and must be electrically isolated or grounded in the layout. Junction temperature is rated to 175 °C max, so the tab can be bolted to a heatsink without derating the current until the case temperature climbs above about 125 °C.
Active and ROHS3 — no lifecycle surprise
The base product number STPS10150 covers the whole family; the CT suffix is the TO-220 through-hole variant. The surface-mount sibling STPS10150CG-TR shares the same die in a D²PAK package, and the STPS10150CFP is the fully insulated TO-220FP version — same electricals, different tab isolation.
