Compact 8-bit controller with proximity-sensing peripherals
The STM8TL53G4U6: A key differentiator in this series is the integrated ProxSense peripheral — a capacitive touch/proximity sensing engine that runs without external active components. Combined with POR, PWM, and WDT, the peripheral set targets human-interface applications like touch buttons, sliders, or proximity wake-up in battery-operated devices.
Memory, connectivity, and supply rails
Program memory is 16 KB of Flash (16K x 8), with a separate 2 KB EEPROM block for non-volatile parameter storage. The 4 KB SRAM supports moderate data buffering and a modest stack depth — adequate for a single control loop with a few sensor buffers. Serial interfaces include I²C, SPI, and UART/USART, covering the common peripheral bus requirements for sensor readout, display communication, or debug logging. 17 general-purpose I/O pins are available in the 28-pin package, which leaves about 11 pins free after accounting for the serial interfaces and power.
