This architecture lets a single chip run a Linux-based HMI stack on the A7 while the M4 handles deterministic motor control or sensor fusion with cycle-accurate timing — no second MCU, no inter-chip latency. Memory interface supports DDR3, DDR3L, LPDDR2, and LPDDR3, giving the system architect flexibility to balance cost and bandwidth against the application's frame-buffer and data-throughput needs. On the peripheral side, the part carries dual Ethernet (one 10/100, one Gigabit) and five USB 2.0 ports — two host and three OTG+PHY — enough for a multi-interface industrial gateway or a 7-inch panel PC with external storage.

Security and display path

ARM TrustZone (ARM TZ) hardware isolates secure and non-secure worlds at the bus level — a requirement for secure-boot chains, encrypted storage, and payment-terminal certification.
