80 MHz Cortex-M4 with 256 KB flash — the throughput and memory budget
The STM32L452VCT6 runs an ARM Cortex-M4 core at 80 MHz, delivering the DSP and FPU throughput needed for sensor fusion, motor-control loops, or audio processing without an external coprocessor. 256 KB of on-chip flash (256K x 8) holds the application firmware, bootloader, and calibration tables; 160 KB SRAM (160K x 8) leaves room for multiple data buffers, a real-time OS heap, and a communication stack.
Peripheral set for industrial and mixed-signal designs
The 16-channel 12-bit ADC samples analog inputs (current shunts, thermistors, pressure transducers) at up to 5 Msps in interleaved mode; the single 12-bit DAC generates a control voltage or analog output signal. On-chip peripherals include DMA, PWM timers, a watchdog timer, and brown-out detect/reset — the DMA offloads data transfers between ADC, memory, and serial interfaces without CPU intervention.
