72 MHz Cortex-M4 with FPU — real-time loop headroom
The STM32F334K4T6 runs an ARM Cortex-M4 core at 72 MHz, which means single-cycle MAC and DSP extensions are available for closed-loop control algorithms — motor FOC or digital PFC loops fit within the timing budget without an external co-processor. On-chip memory is 16 KB flash and 12 KB RAM; the flash holds the application code and constant tables, while the RAM serves data buffers and stack. For a sensor-fusion node logging a few hundred samples per second, this is adequate; a data-logger capturing raw ADC streams at high rate will need external SPI SRAM or a larger part.
Mixed-signal front-end: 9-channel ADC, 3-channel DAC
Nine 12-bit ADC channels and three 12-bit DAC channels sit on-chip — enough to digitise three-phase currents plus a DC-link voltage and output a reference or compensation waveform without external converters. The 12-bit resolution gives 4096 steps, adequate for most industrial sensor interfaces. Connectivity includes CANbus, I²C, SPI, UART/USART, and IrDA — the CAN port ties into industrial fieldbus networks; I²C and SPI handle local sensor buses and serial memories.
Operating range is -40 to 85°C, which covers most industrial enclosures and outdoor cabinets without active cooling.
