Core and memory headroom for mixed-signal control
The STM32F303VET6 runs an ARM Cortex-M4 core with single-precision FPU at 72 MHz — enough throughput to execute nested PID loops, sensor fusion filters, and comms stack without an external DSP or co-processor. 512 KB of flash program memory leaves room for bootloader redundancy, field-upgradeable firmware, and multiple application images. The 80 KB SRAM handles double-buffered communication buffers and FOC lookup tables simultaneously. With 86 general-purpose I/O lines, this MCU can interface to parallel LCDs, external memory buses, and a bank of sensors without an I/O expander.
Analog front-end and peripheral integration
The 39-channel 12-bit ADC samples three-phase currents and a DC-link voltage in a single conversion sequence — the dual 12-bit DAC outputs the setpoint voltages for the gate drivers. Built-in peripherals include DMA, I²S, POR, PWM, and WDT — the PWM timers generate complementary dead-time-controlled signals for motor drives, while DMA moves ADC results to RAM without CPU intervention.
RoHS3 compliant (2011/65/EU + 2015/863), with no halogenated flame retardants in the mold compound. The base product number is STM32F303.
