72 MHz Cortex-M3 with 384 KB flash — active production, no end-of-life risk
The STM32F103VDT6TR is an active-production ARM Cortex-M3 MCU from STMicroelectronics, running at 72 MHz with 384 KB of on-chip flash and 64 KB of SRAM. The 32-bit core delivers the throughput for motor-control loops, CAN-bridge applications, and multi-protocol fieldbus nodes — the DMA engine offloads the CPU during high-rate ADC conversions or UART streams. Packaged in a 100-LQFP (14x14 mm), the part exposes 80 I/O lines and a full suite of connectivity peripherals: CAN, USB, three SPI ports, two I²C interfaces, five USARTs, and an IrDA/LIN-capable UART.
Peripheral set and data converters — what the 12-bit ADC and motor-control PWM mean on the bench
Sixteen 12-bit ADC channels and two 12-bit DAC channels are on-chip — the ADC samples at up to 1 µs per conversion, adequate for current-sense feedback in a motor drive or multi-channel sensor acquisition.
