Compact Cortex-M0 for USB and CAN nodes
The STM32F042K6U6TR: It packs 32 KB of flash and 6 KB of SRAM in a 32-UFQFPN 5x5 mm package — enough for a USB-connected sensor hub or a CAN node in a compact enclosure. With USB 2.0, CANbus, and multiple SPI/I²C/UART interfaces, this MCU bridges field buses and local peripherals without an external transceiver for the USB PHY. The 26 GPIOs in a 32-pin package leave room for a few discrete I/O alongside the serial interfaces.
Memory and peripheral budget for a control loop
32 KB of flash and 6 KB of RAM suit a single control loop with a modest protocol stack — a CANopen node with a few analog inputs and PWM outputs fits within this footprint. The 13-channel 12-bit ADC reads sensors directly; DMA moves the samples to RAM without CPU intervention. Industrial temperature grade (-40°C to 85°C) covers most factory-floor and outdoor equipment.
Active lifecycle and sourcing posture
The tape-and-reel packaging (TR suffix) matches automated pick-and-place assembly.
