The STMicroelectronics M24C32-FDW6TP is a 32 Kbit serial EEPROM organized as 4 K x 8 bits, communicating over an I²C bus at up to 1 MHz. The 1.7 V to 5.5 V supply range and 8-TSSOP package fit tight PCB layouts.
It is not qualified to AEC-Q100, so for under-hood automotive or 125°C environments the automotive-grade M24C32-DRDW3TP/K (same 32 Kbit density, 4 ms write cycle, -40°C to 125°C) is the correct choice.
Write cycle and endurance
The write cycle time is 5 ms for a word or a page write. That is the time the bus is held busy while the internal programming completes; the host must wait for the acknowledge polling or a fixed 5 ms delay before the next command. For applications that log data frequently — say every few seconds — this write time is fine. For high-frequency writes, a FRAM or SRAM would be a better fit.
