Read access time is 900 ns, fast enough for the I²C bus to run at full speed without wait states on the master side. The wide range means the same part works across a mixed-voltage backplane without a separate level translator for the I²C lines.
UFDFPN-8 package and rework profile
Housed in an 8-UFDFN exposed-pad package (2 mm x 3 mm body), the part is surface-mount with a thermal pad underneath. The exposed pad needs a solder paste stencil opening that matches the datasheet footprint — too little paste and the pad lifts during reflow; too much and the part floats off the landing pattern. Suitable for outdoor telecom cabinets or unheated factory floors where the ambient swings below freezing.
STMicroelectronics lists the M24C08-RMB6TG as obsolete. For new designs, consider a current-production 8 Kbit I²C EEPROM in a similar UFDFPN-8 package from the same family — verify pin compatibility and I²C address assignment before substituting.
