8Kbit I²C EEPROM — 1.8V to 5.5V supply, 8-MSOP
The M24C08-RDS6G: Housed in an 8-MSOP package (3.00 mm width), it fits compact designs where board area is constrained.
Timing and write endurance for the BOM line
Access time is 900 ns — this is the random read access from the I²C bus; the actual throughput is gated by the 400 kHz clock rate and the acknowledge cycle, not the access time itself. The 1.8V minimum supply is the key differentiator: many 5V-only EEPROMs cannot run from a 1.8V rail without an external regulator. This part works directly on a 1.8V MCU bus, saving the regulator cost and PCB area.
STMicroelectronics has marked the M24C08-RDS6G as Obsolete. The 8Kbit I²C EEPROM market has many active alternatives, but none are pin-compatible without a board spin — the 8-MSOP footprint is common, but the supply voltage range and I²C address scheme vary. Quantities are lot-specific and confirmed at RFQ time. No last-time-buy window remains open from ST; all supply is from existing stock in the channel.
