The STMicroelectronics M24C04-BN6 is a 4 Kbit serial EEPROM with an I2C interface, organized as 512 x 8 bits. The write cycle time is 5 ms per page or word, which means a full 16-byte page write takes 5 ms before the next command. This part is through-hole in an 8-DIP (0.300", 7.62 mm) package, so it fits legacy boards, prototyping sockets, or retrofit designs where a surface-mount footprint isn't available.
STMicroelectronics no longer manufactures this specific variant in the 8-DIP package. New designs should avoid it unless you have a stockpile or a last-time-buy already secured.
It will not run on a 3.3 V rail — if your board is 3.3 V logic, you need a different EEPROM (e.g., the M24C04-WMN6 which operates down to 2.5 V).
