The LPS27HHWTR covers an absolute pressure span of 3.77 PSI to 18.27 PSI (26 kPa to 126 kPa) — a range that maps to roughly -500 m to +10,000 m above sea level, making it a fit for drone altitude hold, weather station barometry, and portable navigation. The 24-bit digital output paired with a choice of I²C or SPI serial interfaces means the sensor feeds calibrated pressure data directly into a host MCU without an external ADC — the bus selection lets the designer match the existing peripheral bus without a level translator. Accuracy is specified at ±0.015 PSI (±0.1 kPa), which at sea level translates to roughly ±8.5 m of altitude error — tight enough for floor-level indoor positioning and vertical-rate estimation in UAV flight controllers.
Supply, temperature, and overpressure margins
Maximum overpressure is 145.04 PSI (1000 kPa) — roughly 10× the full-scale range — providing margin against pressure spikes during handling or altitude chamber testing without sensor damage.

On-chip temperature compensation corrects the pressure reading across the operating range without external thermistor lookup — the calibration coefficients are factory-programmed and read via the digital interface.
