What the L6235D drives and where it fits
The L6235D is a fully integrated three-phase BLDC motor driver from ST's STSPIN L62 family. It packs the control logic and DMOS power stage into a single package, so you can drive a brushless DC motor directly without a separate pre-driver or external FETs. Rated for 2.8A continuous output and a supply range of 12V to 52V, it covers common 24V and 48V industrial BLDC rails. The parallel interface makes it straightforward to hook up to a microcontroller or motion controller without SPI or UART overhead.
The 12V to 52V supply range lets you run the L6235D on a standard 24V industrial bus or a 48V battery pack without a separate regulator. The 2.8A continuous output is the practical ceiling for the motor phase current — size your motor winding resistance and torque demand to stay under that limit at the worst-case junction temperature. The three half-bridge outputs drive a wye- or delta-connected BLDC motor directly. The DMOS technology keeps the on-resistance low, which helps with thermal management in the package.
