25 mOhm Rds(on) and 5.6 A output — conduction loss at the rail
The IPS2050HQ-32 is a dual-channel high-side switch from STMicroelectronics with a typical on-resistance of 25 mOhm per channel. At the 5.6 A maximum continuous output, the I²R conduction loss is under 0.8 W per channel at 25°C junction — manageable in the 48-QFN exposed-pad package without forced air for most loads. The supply range spans 8 V to 60 V. The logic-level input is non-inverting and the output configuration is high-side N-channel, so a logic high turns the load on — no inversion stage needed in the control path.
Integrated fault protection and temperature grade
Fault protection is built in: current limiting (fixed), over-load, over-temperature, over-voltage, and UVLO. The part latches off or cycles on fault and reports status through the logic interface, so the downstream controller knows when a load has shorted or the supply has sagged.
The BOM line can be committed without planning a last-time buy or requalifying a replacement.
