Fully integrated stepper/DC driver in a 24-SOIC
The STMicroelectronics E-L6219DSA is a fully integrated motor driver combining control logic and power stage in one 24-SOIC surface-mount package. It drives bipolar stepper motors in full- or half-step resolution and also handles brushed DC motors, making it a flexible choice for general-purpose motion control. The parallel interface keeps control simple — no SPI or I2C overhead.
The 750 mA per-channel output is the continuous rating; for stepper applications each phase sees that current, so total motor draw can reach 1.5 A peak during microstepping transitions. The 10 V to 46 V load supply range fits common 12 V, 24 V, and 36 V industrial bus voltages — a single part covers multiple rail designs. The half-bridge (4) output configuration integrates the four N-channel FETs and their freewheeling diodes, so external flyback diodes are not required for most inductive loads. The logic supply at 5 V nominal (4.75 V min) is standard for 5 V MCU or PLD interfaces.
