3 A through a SOD-323 — what the thermal budget says
The BAT60JFILM is an STMicroelectronics Schottky barrier rectifier rated for 10 V reverse voltage and 3 A average rectified current, housed in a SOD-323 (SC-76) surface-mount package. The 3 A rating in this small footprint is the headline spec — it tells you the die is built for low forward drop to keep conduction losses manageable at the package's thermal limit. Forward voltage is specified at 580 mV maximum at 1 A, which sets the efficiency floor for the low-voltage rail it's protecting or rectifying.
Reworking the SOD-323 — hot air and pad prep
The cathode is the larger pad on the SOD-323 body — make sure the PCB land pattern matches the recommended ST footprint so the solder joint doesn't become the thermal bottleneck.
Leakage and junction temperature ceiling
Reverse leakage is specified at 6 µA at 10 V reverse — a typical Schottky trade-off where lower Vf comes with higher leakage than a comparable PN-junction diode. The maximum junction temperature is 150 °C, which is the hard stop for thermal design: at high ambient or sustained 3 A output, the junction temperature rise from the forward loss plus leakage must stay under that ceiling. This part is not AEC-Q101 qualified, so it's suited for consumer, industrial, and general-purpose power rails rather than automotive under-hood environments.
