Flyback controller with 800V integrated switch
The ALTAIR05T-800TR is an offline flyback switching regulator from STMicroelectronics, integrating the power switch and controller in a single 16-SOIC package. It targets isolated AC-DC converter designs where the primary-side MOSFET must withstand up to 800V — the breakdown rating covers the reflected voltage plus leakage spike on a universal-input flyback without an external clamp.
Start-up and supply bias range
Start-up threshold is 13V, and the Vcc operating range spans 11.5V to 23V. The 13V start-up allows the IC to begin switching before the auxiliary winding takes over, a common bias architecture in off-line flybacks. The wide Vcc range gives margin for the auxiliary winding voltage to vary with load. Output isolation is rated as isolated — the flyback transformer provides galvanic isolation between primary and secondary, meeting the safety isolation requirements of IEC 60950-1 and IEC 62368-1 for AC-DC power supplies.

Operating junction temperature spans -25°C to 125°C, covering the industrial temperature band. The 16-SOIC package (0.154-inch body width, 3.90mm) is a standard surface-mount footprint for automated reflow assembly. Supplier device package is 16-SO.
