What the AQY232SZ is — and what it switches
The AQY232SZ is a PhotoMOS™ AQY-series solid-state relay (SSR) in the 4-SOP (0.173", 4.40 mm wide) surface-mount package with gull-wing termination — the 4-SOP form factor is compact enough for dense signal-level boards but demands reflow or careful hot-air rework; the gull-wing leads are standard for SMD assembly and are visually unambiguous for orientation on a board. The circuit is SPST-NO (single-pole single-throw normally open) — the relay closes when the input LED is energised and stays open when it is not, which is the standard configuration for switching a load under PLC or MCU control. Rated load voltage spans 0 V to 60 V DC (or peak AC), placing this squarely in low-voltage DC control and instrumentation territory — the kind of 24 V logic rails common in industrial automation and building control, not in high-voltage AC power switching.
Load current and on-resistance — what the numbers mean at the board level
Maximum load current is 500 mA — that is the ceiling for what the output stage carries without derating. The 1.25 VDC input turn-on voltage is the critical interface spec — a 3.3 V MCU GPIO can drive this directly without a level-shifting transistor, and even a 1.8 V logic rail has enough margin to guarantee the LED fires reliably. Check the LED forward current requirement against your drive pin current limit before committing.
