PhotoMOS™ RF relay — 120 mA, 40 V, 12.5 Ohm on-resistance
The AQY221N2V1W is a Panasonic Electric Works PhotoMOS™ AQY series solid-state relay in a 4-SSOP package, switching AC or DC signals up to 120 mA and 40 V with a 12.5 Ohm max on-resistance.
What the on-resistance and RF output mean for the BOM
At 12.5 Ohms max, the on-resistance sets the voltage drop across the output — at 120 mA the drop is 1.5 V, so the load sees 38.5 V from a 40 V supply. This matters for precision analog switching where a 1.5 V drop in the signal path must be budgeted. The output type is rated for AC, DC, and RF signals — the PhotoMOS construction with back-to-back MOSFETs gives low off-state leakage and fast switching, making it suitable for test equipment, sensor signal routing, and RF front-end switching where a mechanical relay's contact bounce would introduce noise.
Housed in a 4-SMD package measuring 0.175" (4.45 mm) body length — the 4-SSOP footprint with SMD (SMT) Tab termination suits standard pick-and-place and reflow assembly. No through-hole step needed.
