What this PhotoMOS relay does on a signal board
The AQY221N2SX is a solid-state relay from the PhotoMOS AQY series, switching AC or DC signals up to 120 mA through an isolated input at 1.14 VDC. The SPST-NO (1 Form A) output handles 0 V to 40 V across the load terminals, with a maximum on-state resistance of 12.5 Ohms — that resistance sets the self-heating at full current, so the 120 mA rating is the practical ceiling in a 4-SOP package without airflow.
RF-rated output and package constraints
The output is explicitly rated for AC, DC, and RF signals — the PhotoMOS construction gives faster switching and longer life than an electromechanical relay in RF path switching or low-level signal multiplexing.
