PhotoMOS AQY214EHAX — 120 mA, 400 V signal relay for AC/DC loads
The AQY214EHAX is a solid-state relay from the Panasonic PhotoMOS AQY series, configured as a single-pole single-throw normally-open (SPST-NO) switch. It handles AC or DC loads up to 120 mA at voltages from 0 to 400 V, making it a fit for isolating low-power signals in test equipment, instrumentation, and telecom line cards.
On-state resistance and signal integrity
Maximum on-state resistance is 35 Ohms. For a 120 mA load, that translates to about 0.5 V drop across the relay — negligible in a 24 V control loop but worth budgeting in a 5 V analog signal path where the voltage divider effect could shift a measurement.
Housed in a 4-SMD package with a 7.62 mm body width and gull-wing leads, the AQY214EHAX sits on the same 0.300-inch footprint as a standard DIP-4 optocoupler. The surface-mount gull-wing terminals are rework-friendly with a standard hot-air station — no lab bench required for a field swap, though the part is ESD-sensitive like any MOS device.
