Zero-cross SSR for AC load switching
The AQH3213A is a surface-mount solid-state relay from Panasonic's AQ-H series, built to switch AC loads up to 1.2 A at line voltages from 0 to 600 V. The zero-cross output turns on only near the AC voltage zero — this means the load sees a clean, low-stress start without the inrush spike a random-turn-on SSR would generate.
Housed in an 8-SMD package with 7 leads and gull-wing terminations, the AQH3213A sits on the board with a standard 0.300-inch (7.62 mm) body width — the same footprint as many DIP-8 optocouplers and SSRs, so a layout already using that pattern can often drop this part in without a board spin. The SPST-NO (1 Form A) circuit gives you a single normally-open switch — one load channel per package. For multi-channel designs, you stack multiple devices; the zero-cross timing is independent per relay, so each channel switches at its own zero crossing.
