SOT-23-5 footprint and the 4V fixed rail
The TC1014-4.0VCT713 is a single-output positive LDO in a SOT-23-5 (SC-74A) package, delivering a fixed 4V output at up to 50 mA. The 0.12 V max dropout at full load means the input rail needs to stay above 4.12 V to keep the output in regulation — a 5 V rail with 200 mV of ripple still clears the headroom.
PSRR and noise-sensitive analog rails
With 64 dB of PSRR at 1 kHz, this regulator attenuates switching supply ripple by a factor of roughly 1600 at that frequency. For a 50 mVpp ripple on the input at 1 kHz, the output sees under 32 µVpp — clean enough to power an analog front-end or a reference buffer without an additional LC filter.
Industrial temperature range and protection
Built-in over-current and over-temperature protection means it shuts down before the die exceeds the safe junction limit — useful on a board where the regulator sits near a hot processor or power stage. Quiescent current is 80 µA typical, so the regulator's own draw won't drain a battery overnight on an always-on rail. The Enable pin lets a microcontroller or supervisor pull the output to zero and cut the 80 µA Iq entirely when the rail is unused.
