PIN diode in a 2-SMD no-lead package
The MML4402-GM2 is a single PIN diode from Microchip's MML4400 series, housed in a 2-SMD no-lead package (supplier device package 2-SMD). The no-lead footprint keeps the parasitic inductance low — important for RF limiting and switching circuits where the package adds reactance to the die's own capacitance. Rated for 75 V peak reverse voltage, with a series resistance of 1.5 Ohm at 100 mA forward current and 100 MHz, and a junction capacitance of 2 pF at 0 V reverse bias and 1 MHz. The 1.5 Ohm resistance at 100 mA means the diode's insertion loss in a 50-Ohm system stays under 0.3 dB — within tolerance for most limiter and switch applications.
The 150°C max junction temperature gives margin above the 125°C typical for plastic-packaged PIN diodes — useful for high-power RF front-ends or hot environments.
