Dropout and output current — the real fit numbers
The MIC68200-1.2YML-TR: Rated for 1 A continuous output with a maximum dropout voltage of 0.4 V at that full load. The fixed 1.2 V output (or tracking option per the datasheet) suits core and I/O supplies in FPGA, ASIC, and MCU designs where the rail tolerance is tight and the load steps are fast. The Enable and Power On Reset control features let the regulator sequence cleanly — the POR flag holds the downstream device in reset until the output is stable.
Temperature range and package — board integration
The quiescent current is 15 mA typical — not a micropower LDO, but acceptable for always-on rails in systems where the load current dominates the power budget.
Protection and compliance
Built-in over-current and over-temperature protection — the regulator folds back under fault and recovers when the junction cools.
