Active production — 8-channel low-side driver for 5/12 V loads
The MIC58P01YWM-TR is an active-production, 8-output low-side latched driver from Microchip Technology, built on a bipolar process and packaged in a 24-SOIC wide-body surface-mount package.
Strobe, parallel interface and latched output architecture
The parallel interface with a strobe input lets you present data on the input lines and then latch all eight outputs simultaneously on the strobe edge — this avoids intermediate-state glitches on the load side when the data bus is shared or multiplexed. The output configuration is low-side (open-collector NPN) with a bipolar output stage, meaning the driver sinks current to ground — the load connects between the positive supply rail and the driver output pin. Built-in fault protection includes over-temperature shutdown and under-voltage lockout (UVLO); these prevent the driver from latching up or thermally running away if the load shorts or the supply rail droops.
Package and board-fit — 24-SOIC wide body
The 24-SOIC package has a 0.295-inch (7.50 mm) body width and a 1.27 mm pin pitch — this is the wide-body SOIC variant, so the PCB footprint differs from the narrow 24-SOIC (0.150-inch body). The supplier device package is listed as 24-SOIC.
The part is ROHS3 compliant — no RoHS exemptions apply, so it is fully lead-free and suitable for EU and California markets without an exemption declaration.
