The MIC384-3YMM is a digital temperature sensor from Microchip Technology that combines local and remote sensing capability in a single 8-MSOP package. Communication is over a standard I²C/SMBus interface, and the sensor integrates an output switch with programmable temperature limits, shutdown, and standby modes for system-level thermal management.
Supply and interface requirements
The 7-bit resolution over the I²C/SMBus interface is adequate for monitoring board-level thermal gradients and triggering fan or throttle events at the programmed limit thresholds.
Housed in an 8-lead MSOP (3.00 mm width, 0.118" pitch), the MIC384-3YMM occupies minimal board area and is supplied in tubes for through-hole or reflow assembly.
