What the 10mV/°C scale means for your ADC budget
The MCP9700T-E/TT outputs an analog voltage that scales 10mV/°C — at 25°C the output is 0.75V, at 125°C it is 1.75V. This linear scale lets a 10-bit ADC with a 2.5V reference resolve about 0.25°C per LSB, no external gain stage needed.
Accuracy over temperature: stack the error budget
Headline accuracy is ±2°C over the 0°C to 70°C test condition, but outside that band the error widens to -4°C, +6°C.
Supply rail flexibility and package fit
Runs on any rail from 2.3V to 5.5V, so it can share a 3.3V or 5V supply without a separate LDO. The SOT-23-3 package is a standard three-pin footprint — Vdd, Vss, Vout — and mates with common SOT-23-3 land patterns.
