What this zero-drift op-amp does that a general-purpose part cannot
The Microchip MCP6V71T-E/OT is a single-channel zero-drift operational amplifier in a SOT-23-5 package. That makes it the right choice for precision DC measurement chains, load-cell amplifiers, thermocouple interfaces, and any circuit where a few microvolts of drift over temperature would push the system out of tolerance. The 2 MHz gain-bandwidth product and 1 V/µs slew rate are modest by general-purpose standards, but they are more than adequate for the low-frequency, high-gain applications this part is built for. The real value is in the DC precision: 1 pA input bias current means the source impedance can be high without loading the signal, and the 170 µA supply current keeps the power budget under control in multi-channel or battery-operated designs.
Supply range and 3.3 V compatibility
The rail-to-rail output stage swings within millivolts of both rails, preserving dynamic range in low-voltage systems. If your design uses a 3.3 V ADC reference, this op-amp can drive the full input span without headroom issues.
Package and footprint
Supplied in a 5-lead SOT-23 (SC-74A) package, the MCP6V71T-E/OT occupies minimal board area and is compatible with standard SOT-23-5 land patterns. The Tape & Reel option (TR suffix) is suited for automated pick-and-place assembly; Cut Tape (CT) is also available for prototyping or low-volume builds.
