The MCP1826T-1802E/DC is a single-output, fixed 1.8V LDO linear regulator rated for 1A continuous output current. Quiescent current is 220 µA typical – moderate for a 1A LDO, but the Enable pin lets you shut down the output and drop Iq to near zero for battery-powered sleep modes. The Power Good flag asserts when the output rises above ~90% of nominal, giving the downstream load a reset-ready signal.
PSRR and noise – where 60 dB at 100 Hz matters
Power supply rejection ratio is 60 dB at 100 Hz – this attenuates 100/120 Hz ripple from a mains-rectified front end by a factor of 1000. For an analog sensor supply or a precision ADC reference rail, that ripple rejection keeps the noise floor below the converter's LSB. Above 100 kHz the PSRR rolls off; a small ceramic cap on the input filters switching noise before it reaches the LDO.
Protection and temperature grade – reliability in harsh environments
Built-in over-temperature shutdown, short-circuit current limit, and under-voltage lockout (UVLO) protect the regulator and the load against fault conditions.
Package and board integration – SOT-223-6 footprint
The SOT-223-6 package (supplier device package SOT-223-5) has a large exposed thermal pad on the bottom – the datasheet recommends a minimum copper area of 300 mm² on the top layer to keep junction temperature below 125°C at 1A output.
Active lifecycle and compliance – sourcing posture
ROHS3 compliant per, with no halogen or lead restrictions blocking EU or North American shipments.
