The MCP1824ST-5002E/DB is a single-output positive LDO regulator delivering a fixed 5V output at up to 300mA continuous current. Quiescent current is 220 µA typical, a figure that matters for always-on or battery-backed rails where the regulator's own draw competes with the load budget.
Ripple rejection and protection suite
Power supply rejection ratio is 55dB at 100Hz, which attenuates 100Hz ripple from a rectified mains supply by a factor of roughly 560 — relevant when the LDO follows a bulk capacitor but not a second-stage filter.
