Ethernet PHY for industrial 100BASE-TX links
The KSZ8061MNGW is a single-port 100Mbps Ethernet transceiver in a 48-QFN (7x7 mm) package, designed for full-duplex 100BASE-TX copper links. It integrates one driver and one receiver (1/1) and supports supply voltages of 1.8V, 2.5V, and 3.3V, which simplifies power-tree design when the core and I/O rails are separate. The -40°C to 105°C operating range qualifies it for outdoor telecom cabinets, factory-floor Ethernet nodes, and under-hood automotive gateway modules where the ambient temperature pushes past 85°C.
Supply flexibility and thermal footprint
The triple supply rail (1.8V, 2.5V, 3.3V) lets the PHY run from a 3.3V analog supply while the digital core can drop to 1.8V to reduce power dissipation. The 48-VFQFN exposed pad requires a thermal via array under the centre pad to pull heat into the ground plane — a 4-layer board with a solid copper pour under the QFN is the baseline recommendation.
