Linear LED driver for signage and lighting — no inductor, no noise
The Microchip CL520N3-G is a linear constant-current LED driver designed for lighting and signage applications. It delivers a fixed 20 mA per channel from a single output, with an output voltage range spanning 1 V to 90 V — enough headroom to drive long LED strings directly from a high-voltage rail without a switching regulator. The through-hole TO-92-3 package keeps assembly simple for low- to medium-volume production or retrofit boards.
20 mA fixed current — no external resistor needed
The CL520N3-G regulates output current to 20 mA without requiring an external sense resistor. That simplifies the BOM and eliminates a trim step. The supply range starts at 4.75 V minimum and goes up to 90 V maximum, so you can power it from a 5 V logic rail or a 48 V telecom bus — the same part works across both.
No LTB notices, no NRND flags. ROHS3 compliant. For new designs or production fills, the CL520N3-G is a current-catalog item with no imminent obsolescence risk.
