1 Mbit SPI EEPROM for config storage and data logging
The Microchip AT25M01-SHM-T is a 1 Mbit serial EEPROM organized as 128K x 8 bits, accessed over an SPI bus at up to 20 MHz. The wide voltage range and 5 ms page write time suit it for storing calibration constants, boot parameters, or event logs in systems that see power cycling or brownout conditions.
20 MHz SPI and 5 ms page write — throughput for field updates
At 20 MHz the SPI interface reads a full 128 KB page in about 6.5 ms, while a page write takes 5 ms. That is fast enough to stream a firmware image from an MCU without stalling the main loop for more than a few milliseconds. For data-logging applications, the 128K x 8 organization lets you store 128 000 single-byte samples before needing to erase a sector — practical for a shift's worth of temperature or vibration readings.
Industrial temperature range and wide-body SOIC
The 8-SOIC wide-body package (5.30 mm width) is a standard footprint — easy to hand-solder in a pinch, and the orientation is clear enough that a field swap with a basic iron is straightforward. No hot-air station required.
