64 Kbit I²C EEPROM in a 2×3 mm UDFN package
The Microchip AT24CS64-MAHM-T is a 64 Kbit serial EEPROM organized as 8K x 8 bits, accessed through an I²C interface running at up to 1 MHz. The 550 ns access time suits moderate-speed parameter storage — calibration constants, configuration tables, or serial numbers — where the I²C bus is shared with sensors or an MCU.
The 8-UDFN package with exposed pad (2×3 mm body) keeps the footprint small — useful when board space is tight.
Write cycle and endurance considerations
Page and word write cycles complete in 5 ms typical. For a 64 Kbit device, that's about 1.3 seconds to rewrite the entire array if you page-write 16 bytes at a time. The I²C interface supports sequential reads, so firmware can burst-read the whole memory in about 65 ms at 1 MHz. No wear-leveling is needed for infrequent writes — the EEPROM technology handles 1 million erase/write cycles per byte.
