Product details

8 Kbit I²C EEPROM in a 2x3 mm UDFN — what it does

The Microchip AT24CS08-MAHM-E is an 8 Kbit serial EEPROM accessed over an I²C bus at up to 1 MHz. It stores 1K x 8 bits of non-volatile data, organised as a single page for read/write operations. The 550 ns access time is the random-read cycle; sequential reads run at the bus clock rate once the address is loaded.

It is not AEC-Q100 qualified, so it does not belong in an under-hood automotive ECU or a transmission controller. For a cabin-environment automotive module (infotainment, cluster) that still runs at 85°C, the lack of AEC-Q stamp means you carry the qualification risk yourself.

Package and footprint — the 8-UDFN (2x3 mm)

The 8-UDFN with exposed pad (2x3 mm body) is a compact, leadless package for dense PCBs. The 5 ms write-cycle time per page means the part can absorb a burst of writes without bus-stalling the controller if you poll the acknowledge polling.

The part is ROHS3 compliant.

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between AT24CS08-MAHM-E and AT24CS08-MAHM-T?

The AT24CS08-MAHM-E and AT24CS08-MAHM-T are the same silicon in the same 8-UDFN package. Functionally identical — pick by reel quantity and your pick-and-place feeder setup.
