1M-gate ProASIC3 FPGA in a 208-pin QFP
The Microchip A3P1000-PQG208 is a non-volatile, flash-based FPGA from the ProASIC3 family, offering 1,000,000 system gates and 154 user I/O in a 208-pin PQFP package.
I/O count and routing headroom
With 154 I/O available, this part suits designs that need moderate interface density without jumping to a larger BGA package. The 208-pin QFP keeps board routing on a 4-layer stack manageable. By comparison, the smaller A3P125-TQG144 offers 100 I/O and 125,000 gates, which is a different tier for simpler glue logic.
On-chip memory for buffering and control
The embedded RAM totals 147,456 bits, distributed across the ProASIC3 block RAM tiles. That is enough for moderate FIFOs, line buffers, or coefficient storage in a 1M-gate design. The smaller A3P125 variant carries 36,864 bits, so the A3P1000 provides a meaningful step up for data-path applications.
Core supply and temperature grade
The core voltage is 1.425 V, requiring a clean, regulated rail. For extended-temperature or automotive use, a different ProASIC3 variant with a wider range would be needed.
