1Kbit serial EEPROM with a 1 MHz Microwire bus
The Microchip 93C46/J is a 1Kbit serial EEPROM organized as 64 words of 16 bits each, accessed through a Microwire synchronous serial interface running at up to 1 MHz. This is the through-hole Bulk-packaged variant of the long-running 93C46 family, intended for parameter storage, calibration constants, and small configuration tables in 5V logic systems.
64 x 16 organization and write-cycle timing
The 64 x 16 bit (1Kbit) organization means each write operation programs a full 16-bit word. The write cycle time — word or page — is 2 ms.
It is RoHS non-compliant, which matters for EU and RoHS-regulated markets.
