The Microchip 24LC32AT/SM is a 32 Kbit serial EEPROM organized as 4K x 8 bits, accessed through an I2C interface running at 400 kHz (fast-mode). It stores configuration parameters, calibration tables, device IDs, or small data logs that need non-volatile retention through power cycles. Access time is 900 ns, which is standard for this density class and gives the host microcontroller adequate timing margin for back-to-back reads.
ROHS3 compliant.
Package and footprint
Housed in an 8-SOIC wide-body package (0.209" body width, 5.30 mm), the 24LC32AT/SM uses the SOIJ footprint variant. Surface-mount only. The wide-body is the same footprint as the standard 8-SOIC narrow but with a wider body — check your land pattern if migrating from a narrow SOIC design.
Temperature grade and environment
Intended for indoor, temperature-controlled equipment — office peripherals, consumer electronics, appliance control boards, and similar environments where the ambient stays above freezing and below 70°C. Not specified for industrial or automotive extended-temperature operation.
