1 Kbit I2C EEPROM for configuration and calibration storage
The Microchip 24LC01BHT-I/MNY is a 1Kbit serial EEPROM with an I2C interface, organized as 128 x 8 bits. The 900 ns access time is the random-read cycle time from the bus — the device delivers a byte on the SDA line within one clock cycle after the address. Typical applications include storing calibration constants, device configuration bytes, serial numbers, and small lookup tables in industrial sensors, motor drives, telecom line cards, and battery-powered instruments where non-volatile retention is required without battery backup.
The 8-TDFN package (2x3 mm body) with an exposed pad helps thermal conduction into the PCB ground plane — the pad is internally connected to Vss, so a thermal via stitch under the package improves heat spreading and keeps junction temperature in check during repeated write cycles.
Write cycle timing and endurance considerations
The 5 ms write cycle time is the time the device takes to program the internal array after a stop condition. During this period the device does not acknowledge its own address.
ROHS3 compliant. For dual-sourcing or a larger-density option, the 24LC025T-I/ST (2Kbit, same I2C interface, same 400 kHz speed, same 2.5V min supply) is a pin-compatible step-up if the BOM needs more storage without a board spin.
