64Kbit I²C EEPROM in a 5-pin SOT-23 footprint
The 24FC64FT-I/OT is a 64Kbit serial EEPROM organized as 8K x 8, communicating over an I²C bus at up to 1 MHz. The SOT-23-5 package (SC-74A) takes up minimal board area — the five pins cover SDA, SCL, WP, Vcc, and Vss, with no address lines exposed (the I²C address is hardwired). This is a part for designs that need non-volatile parameter storage, calibration data, or firmware-update staging in a small footprint.
Supply voltage and temperature grade — the real fit constraints
The 1 MHz clock frequency is the fast-mode-plus ceiling for I²C. At 400 kHz standard mode, the bus pulls about 2.5 µA standby; at 1 MHz the active current rises but the part still idles below 5 µA. The 400 ns access time is the read-access window from the last clock edge to data valid — this is fast enough for any I²C master, but the real throughput bottleneck is the 5 ms page-write cycle time. A 64-byte page write takes 5 ms; writing the full 64Kbit in 8-byte chunks would take over 5 seconds.
