What the IMC101TF048XUMA1 does on a motor-drive PCB
The IMC101TF048XUMA1 is a controller for commutation and direction management of permanent-magnet synchronous motors (PMSM) and brushless DC (BLDC) motors, part of Infineon's iMOTION™ series. It integrates a three-phase half-bridge output stage rated for 50 mA per phase — enough to directly drive the gate of a medium-power IGBT or MOSFET module without an external buffer in many home-appliance inverter stages.
Package and board-fit for the layout engineer
Housed in a 48-lead LQFP (PG-LQFP-48-10) with 0.50 mm pitch — a 4-layer board is the practical minimum for fan-out, with the exposed pad soldered to a ground-plane island for thermal relief. The interface is analog and PWM, meaning the control loop is closed through external ADC feedback (current-sense resistors, voltage dividers) while the PWM outputs connect directly to the gate-drive stage.
Lifecycle and compliance for the BOM
It is ROHS3 Compliant, and the CMOS technology keeps quiescent current low enough for the part to sit on a continuously powered control board without a heatsink.
