Dual 10 A fast-recovery diode in a single TO-220
The Infineon IDP20C65D2XKSA1 packs two 650 V, 10 A fast-recovery diodes in a common-cathode pair inside a standard TO-220-3 package. Each diode handles 10 A average rectified current, and the 28 ns reverse recovery time (trr) keeps switching losses low in continuous-conduction-mode PFC stages, boost converters, and output rectifiers for switched-mode power supplies. The 175°C maximum junction temperature gives thermal headroom in compact or poorly ventilated enclosures — think motor drives, server PSUs, or industrial power supplies where the heatsink is tight.
Common-cathode pair — layout and thermal sharing
Both dice share the same cathode tab, so the TO-220-3 pinout is pin 1 (anode 1), pin 2 (common cathode / tab), pin 3 (anode 2). That single-tab connection simplifies heatsink mounting — no isolation pad needed if the heatsink is at the output rail potential. The common-cathode configuration is standard for center-tap full-wave rectifiers and dual-boost interleaved PFC stages where the two anodes connect to separate inductors or transformer windings.
Active lifecycle, no LTB risk
The IDP20C65D2XKSA1 carries an Active product status with ROHS3 compliance. For a production BOM, this means no last-time-buy scheduling or substitute qualification is needed today.
